4094 Wilson Lane is for sale. I have to say: it's one of the tidiest homes I've ever been in.

Rather than list out all of the things that are pretty obvious from the photos* (and list good/bad features), simply take a look and judge for yourself. I have a distinct point-of-view on the value that a real estate agent can bring to the table — they are either your biggest asset and ally… or your weakest link. And given that your home is your biggest investment, when it comes time to sell, you want to get as much out of the sale as you can — and you depend on that agent to prepare and market your property "right" in exchange for a flat 6% commission. It's 6% for the best, most experienced agent… or 6% for the guy who's just phoning it in. Sadly, three of the last four houses in our neighborhood have been represented by the latter (so poor that I haven't even featured the bad ones on this site).

Enter 4076 Wilson Lane… a very nice house represented by a few very crappy shots of a picnic table and a blurry shot of an overgrown yard — a new low. Judge for yourself.

While out of our immediate neighborhood, our friend Thomas Westfall sent us his newest listing. We met Thomas serendipitously through one of his own listings… I was so impressed with the photography, marketing and website, I reached out to him. Since then, he's found us great new neighbors and has found some other friends a new home in Sacramento.

We've been seeing a lot of houses come up for sale in the past few months and the latest is at 4006 Santa Fe Court which is the same model as 4002 Santa Fe Court which sold just a few weeks ago — a 4BR, 2BA carport model. This house is at the corner of Salem St. and Santa Fe Court.

Some of the decor and finishes might not be perfect for the purist, but it seems to have "good bones". See more photos after the jump and judge for yourself (click for higher-res images).

Blaine has been doing some incredible things to his house. This morning, he and a friend were re-facing his roll-up garage door — and by 10AM they were already at this point and finished by the afternoon. Granted, lots of planning and cutting happened beforehand, the results — in just a matter of hours — are amazing. The panels certainly add extra weight to the door… in his words: "The door is so heavy now, I'll have to get a diesel-powered door opener"… but the results are worth it.
