ApartmentTherapy Feature
Thanks very much to Aaron and the crew at ApartmentTherapy.com for featuring the house in one of thier House Tours. Thanks, too, for the kind comments. As you can see from this blog, it was/is definitely a labor of love.

Marty has been getting requests for head-shots as of late… ironic since his head is quite small compared to the rest of his body. You can also find him here.

Casie just uploaded a bunch of new things at ModApple.net just in time for holiday shopping. Avoid the Black Friday madness and pick up a unique vintage gift instead! (or something for yourself…).
We've had quite a few photoshoots (link / link / link) at the house and we'd certainly like to host a few more. The open, inside-out architecture of Eichler homes is great for both still and moving images.

(As hummed to this tune… I'll refrain from adding a music track)
The rains have started and it's time for "guess the fungus!". It's amazing how may different kinds of fungus sprouts up in the yard. We've even had some morrells in the side yard.
Yesterday, I stepped out to snap these. Thoughts on the weird moldy-looking one?

We were able to swing by the open house for 3712 Merridan yesterday. They've cleared the house a bit and removed the carpet. We hope an enthusiast picks this one up — it's a great find.

I was able to visit 3712 Merridan the other day and all I can say is: "wow". It is a gem of a place.
It looks dingy in the pictures, but under the wallpaper, smoke stained walls and carpet is a relatively untouched Eichler and a great floorplan. When going through a place like this — at least for me — I'm looking at what it could be more so that what it is. Frankly, presently, it isn't much and not a place that is in move-in condition… but some light-duty renovation would bring this back in short order.

As randomness would have it, the house for sale that I visited today is very close to Jeff and Chanda's house. I met Jeff when he stopped by for some sliding door parts a few years ago with his super-cute daughter, Katie… and — as things go around here — we keep (happily) bumping into one another.
By day, Jeff saves lives at the County Hospital, but it's obvious that he (and a few friends and relatives) have stayed busy in the down-time… their house looks amazing. Take a look.

Casie forwarded a CraigsList post today advertising a "renovator's dream" here in Concord for $340,000. In less than an hour, I contacted the agent and stopped by to take some exterior shots.

On the way back from Michael and Iris's sale, we stopped by downtown San Anselmo where Modern-I was having a vintage Heath Ceramics sale. Rumor has it that they bought out the late Edith Heath's estate full of samples, vintage pieces, etc… whatever the real story is, there's lots of neat, one-of-a-kind pieces, including some interesting Frank Lloyd Wright co-branded pieces. The sale is only this weekend and next, so hurry.
