David’s New(est) Shelves: In Process

It's great to have return customers in the custom furniture world — it's a bit of validation that you're doing something right. Even better is when the customer is remote and trusts your process from afar.

David's shelves were one of our first orders and the first to be packed up and shipped away. He contacted me a few weeks ago about an order and — once the queue cleared a bit — we were able to get it going. He's anxious to get it before Thanksgiving, so I'm shooting this early — two of the color panels are still curing. The hope is to give it a final buffing (which gives the shelves their soft, matte finish) and get it crated tonight and off to him this week. These are big ones… 92in long (very similar to John's without the doors).

John’s New Shelves

We've been a bit quiet here, but not because we've not been busy. Over in the RedneckModern world, I'm about to detail a project that took a few months to complete.

In the meantime, John contacted me about some storage needs for his new place. He was in search of a set of large shelves with doors to hide the mess. He dropped me a line and in a few weeks, we had this ready. It's 92in long, 32in high and 18in deep… a big one. It's walnut/walnut… one of my new favorite combos as it acheives a very luxe look for a bit less than the colored panels (it takes one less step to finish).
