Jennifer contacted me a few weeks ago about some custom benches. She mentioned that she was eventually looking for a coffee table. As it turned out, I had some excess stock that suited the job quite well. I contacted her on Monday about the idea and sent her a comp-sketch and had it finished by Thursday afternoon.
Like her benches, this table is made from maple multi-ply with cumaru accents. She liked the contrasting plugs we used on the benches, so we repeated the element on the top and sides of the bench. It's amazing how finishing reveals the grain and dimension in the maple-ply — every sheet is so dramatically different… from yellow-, pink-, or gray-toned to curly, straight or knotty grained.
