However, we&#039;ve done so much construction that had we done that, the initial layer would have to have been stripped (messy), so perhaps it is best that we did wait.<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e20134872a70bc970c-popup\" style=\"float: left\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0574\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e20134872a70bc970c \" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e20134872a70bc970c-200wi\" style=\"width: 180px;margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" title=\"IMG_0574\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e20134872a70f6970c-popup\" style=\"float: left\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0573\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e20134872a70f6970c \" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e20134872a70f6970c-200wi\" style=\"width: 180px;margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" title=\"IMG_0573\" \/><\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>We also rented a floor buffer again, but discovered that &#8212; on newly coated flooring &#8212; the air-dried gloss is actually better than buffing it out. I have no doubt that in a few months (years?) when the gloss dies that a buffer will be the ticket to bring back the sheen&#8230; but with the proper coating technique (very thin layers) and some good prep (exile your cat a few weeks beforehand), the buffer isn&#039;t necessary.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We coated the VCT flooring in the &quot;belly&quot;
