{"id":4447,"date":"2011-07-01T08:37:16","date_gmt":"2011-07-01T08:37:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hunterwimmer.com\/redneckmodern\/2011\/07\/01\/review-jmt-mechanical\/"},"modified":"2011-07-01T08:37:16","modified_gmt":"2011-07-01T08:37:16","slug":"review-jmt-mechanical","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hunterwimmer.com\/redneckmodern\/2011\/07\/01\/review-jmt-mechanical\/","title":{"rendered":"Review: JMT Mechanical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Unfortunately, we&#039;ve recently had some <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/freschi-service-experts-antioch#hrid:LhjS9WOQmoYKJc1qCr99Ew\" target=\"_self\">poor experiences<\/a> with the folks that installed our LG Art Cool AC system, so we decided to try a different contractor (JMT) and so far, I&#039;m glad we did.<\/p>\n<p><span>Interestingly enough, <span>JMT<\/span> was one of the two folks we considered for the <a href=\"http:\/\/redneckmodern.typepad.com\/redneckmodern\/2007\/09\/ac-install-day-.html\" target=\"_self\">initial install<\/a> and they&#039;re who we called for the tune-up this time. Both times they&#039;ve been to the house, they&#039;ve been on-time (which should have been an initial positive indicator), so we hope we&#039;re in a good situation now with a responsible contractor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> <a href=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e201538f9249d5970b-popup\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Screen shot 2011-07-01 at 9.20.22 AM\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e201538f9249d5970b\" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e201538f9249d5970b-400wi.jpg\" style=\"width: 364px\" title=\"Screen shot 2011-07-01 at 9.20.22 AM\" \/><\/a> <br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nThis morning Brandon showed up right on time and discussed how he&#039;d installed another of these units (no doubt from a <span>RedneckModern<\/span> reader!) in Marin, so it was comforting to know that he knew his way around the system.<\/p>\n<p><span>The tune-up itself is a pretty simple operation: cleaning, testing for operation, coolant pressure\/level, etc&#8230; so the most important factor is (1) knowing what you&#039;re doing and (2) being on time to do it &#8212; and Brandon did a fine job at both. He didn&#039;t even skip a beat when he headed for the weird, hard-to-configure air filters in the head-units&#8230; a nice indication that he knew what he was doing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>JMT<\/span> is a more casual outfit than our previous provider &#8212; and this &quot;outward appearance&quot; might have been the reason we didn&#039;t go with them in the first place (hey, I&#039;m a designer \u2014 I notice these things).
