{"id":4327,"date":"2014-02-07T18:09:37","date_gmt":"2014-02-07T18:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hunterwimmer.com\/redneckmodern\/2014\/02\/07\/4160-wilson\/"},"modified":"2014-02-07T18:09:37","modified_gmt":"2014-02-07T18:09:37","slug":"4160-wilson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hunterwimmer.com\/redneckmodern\/2014\/02\/07\/4160-wilson\/","title":{"rendered":"4160 Wilson Lane For Sale \/\/ $465K"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A house around the corner came on the market this week: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ziprealty.com\/property\/4160-WILSON-LN-CONCORD-CA-94521\/4103200\/detail\" target=\"_self\">4160 Wilson Lane<\/a>&#8230; and it&#8217;s an original gem that&#8217;s worth a look for any enthusiast.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e201a73df566f3970d image-full img-responsive\" title=\"4160_01\" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e201a73df566f3970d-800wi.jpg\" alt=\"4160_01\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;font-size: 8pt\"><em>[A view from the entry door \u2014 click the images for larger versions.]<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\n<\/p>\n<p>The agent, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eklundrealestategroup.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Kevin Eklund<\/a>, worked with the owners to freshen up the house and make some improvements, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New VCT flooring in a nice, neutral tone (+ removal of the old asbestos-laden tile \u2014 a real bonus)<\/li>\n<li>Recoated roof<\/li>\n<li>Painting and re-oiling of the walls and paneling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8230;but some things they didn&#8217;t dare touch:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All original lighting and switches<\/li>\n<li>Original sliding doors and windows<\/li>\n<li>Original doors in great shape<\/li>\n<li>Original kitchen with swing-out table<\/li>\n<li>Original master bath<\/li>\n<li>Original closet doors<\/li>\n<li>Original stained ceiling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There&#8217;s carpet in the living room which was added by the previous owners and is in good shape. It might have made more sense to simply continue the VCT throughout the house, but that would be an easy fix&#8230; but otherwise, there&#8217;s very little to do to make it quite livable. One might eventually want to update the bathrooms and make a few changes, but as it is, it&#8217;s a great, original blank canvas \u2014 and you don&#8217;t find many of those. The cabinets, sink and cooktop are original and in surprisingly good condition. The realtor and his team took great care to refurbish the original finishes. It seems to be a DIY install and the new owners might want to have it inspected by an installer. The condensate drain will need to be routed to the drain stack on the adjacent wall (where the laundry dumps out). This is a fairly easy fix.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e201a511672932970c img-responsive\" style=\"width: 600px\" title=\"4160_02\" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e201a511672932970c-400wi.jpg\" alt=\"4160_02\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e201a3fcb784bd970b img-responsive\" style=\"width: 600px\" title=\"4160_02\" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e201a3fcb784bd970b-400wi.jpg\" alt=\"4160_02\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When adding the new VCT, the owners and agent opted to keep a bit of the carpet in the living room. If the new owners wanted to extend the VCT, it should be an easy job and the original contractor is available to do the work (at a good price, I might add).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8345166b769e201a3fcb784c2970b img-responsive\" style=\"width: 600px\" title=\"4160_02\" src=\"\/redneckmodern\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/6a00d8345166b769e201a3fcb784c2970b-400wi.jpg\" alt=\"4160_02\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Having seen a lot of flooring in Eichlers \u2014 from carpet to slate \u2014 this is very nicely laid VCT in a great gray-green tone.
