<\/p>\nWe recently purchased a set of LG laundry machines from Pacific Sales… our Bosch Nexxt units finally needed so much repair that new ones were in the cards.<\/p>\n
In short order, Matt at Pacific Sales got us great deals on new machines and arranged delivery. The sales side was great… not "sales-y" at all (which has been our experience at Pacific Sales — everyone we've talked to over the years have been really great).<\/p>\n
However, the delivery and install crew came today. I was not home to oversee and I'm sorry I was not.<\/p>\n

The washer was installed outside of manufacturer recommendations \u2014 they left more than 12 inches of drain hose which will cause mold issues and lead to syphoning which would not be kind to the motor (LG recommends a max of 4in). This wasn't good.<\/p>\n
However, the real issue came with the dryer install… what should have been an 8in connection ended up as a 4-foot hose bent in half and the end connection crimped so much as to block off 90% of the dryer flow. In short order this would have caused the unit to fail (at best) or cause a fire (at worst)… we we know that Eichlers are known as "10 minute burns"… not good.<\/p>\n
So, I'm posting the images here to share with the higher-ups at Pacific Sales in the hopes that they'll do better for the next customer. Fortunately, I knew to check-up on the work, knew what to look for and was able to fix them.<\/p>\n
Imagine the old lady down the street, though, who might not think to double check.<\/p>\n

As you can see, the vent was not only folded up and over, but crimped so much (punched-in) as to block off 90% of the air flow… this is bad. Very bad.<\/p>\n

The LG install instructions call for a max of 4 inches… The installers left a good bit more which has a risk of mold growth. "If the drain hose is extended more than 4 inches beyond the end of the bracket, mold or microorganisms could spread to the inside of the washer." … Yuck.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
